A Northwood Temple Christmas Production

This year’s Celebration of Christmas will tell the story of the promise God made to David of a kingdom that would last forever. He told David through the prophet Nathan, “I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.” (2 Samuel 7:12-13, NKJV).

Jesus came as the ultimate “seed of David,” a direct descendant of the man “after God’s own heart” (Acts 13:22). What is often overlooked is how that line of David was nearly broken over the course of the centuries, and how the forces of hell tried desperately to keep the promise from happening. The devil would have done anything to keep Jesus from being born, but “…no word from God will ever fail” (Luke 1:27, NIV).
