Why Aren’t My Prayers Answered?
When we are regenerated, or ‘born again’, remember a change took place. Our person is in principle detached from his former ego in the old man. The root was notched and by the constant action of storm and gravitation, the cutoff parts separated more and more. Our person is no longer identified with the old man but oppose him. He succeeds in enticing us again to sin. Even in the yielding, we do not know what we will but what we hate. Paul says, “For the good that I would, I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do” (Romans 7:19).
How long does this last? As long as you live. There is a war going on in your spirit. “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth” (Colossians 3:5). Maybe we should take a good look at our prayers, could we be praying wrong? Could it be that THIS is the reason why sometimes our prayers go unanswered?
