The Most Urgent Need Of The Hour
Jesus knew that His disciples and the church that would be started on the day of Pentecost would need an infilling of supernatural power not given by doctors, schools, or the government, but an anointing of the Holy Spirit that comes from God Almighty. The promise is ours.
And when the day of Pentecost came, they were waiting in prayer at a prayer meeting, not a play meeting. They had been told to tarry there until they be filled with the Holy Spirit. They were also believing God because He had always delivered what He said He would deliver, and this would be no exception. They were eagerly expecting a gift of the Holy Spirit.
