Harvest Train
October 20 - November 24 2019 | Northwood Temple Church
Falcon Children’s Home is a ministry of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. It provides a Christian home for children, who for whatever the reason, are not permitted to live with their parents in a normal family setting or whose parents are deceased. The home serves the needs of these children without regard to creed, color, race or religion. They seek to develop the total well-being of every child.
Every Fall there is an event aptly named “Harvest Train.” It is a joyful celebration gathering that focuses on supporting the needs of the Children’s Home. It is an opportunity for those who God has blessed with much to share their surplus in true Christian charity.
Each year Northwood Temple supports the Harvest Train event in several ways:
- Northwood Women’s Ministry – a decorated train collection container is in the alcove by the Bookstore to collect paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper, Kleenex and napkins.
- From Sunday, October 20 thru Sunday, November 24 there will be a Harvest Train Sunday School Contest. Each item donated is a chance for you and your Sunday School teacher to win a prize! Two winners and their Sunday School teachers will be selected on Sunday, November 24th during the 10:50AM service. Donation containers are in the foyer next to the bookstore and at the main church office. Your teacher will provide you with a card for each item you donate.
- On Saturday, November 23 at 7PM and Tuesday, November 26 at 10AM there will be a celebration event at Culbreth Memorial Tabernacle in Falcon. There will be a play written by our own Buck Hodge and an opportunity to see what Falcon Children’s Home is all about.
