Christmas 2024: Joy To The World
December 13 - 15 | Northwood Temple Main Sanctuary
Northwood Temple Church, Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC, USA
Joy to the World the Lord is Come . . . and He will come again soon!
Almost everyone’s favorite Christmas carol is “Joy to the World,” but it was never meant to be sung at Christmas. Its composer was Isaac Watts, who loved taking the Psalms of the Old Testament and adding the message of Jesus. He was so good at translating scriptures to singable poetry that he eventually became known as the father of English hymns.
But–his life was not easy. He was scorned as a heretic. Still, he never wavered in his commitment to helping people understand the true meaning of the scriptures.
Northwood Temple presents a story of this man’s difficult life and the visions he saw. The great song, “Joy to the World” is a picture of Jesus’ return at the Battle of Armageddon and the beginning of the Millennial reign. That glimpse of the future is closer and more relevant today than ever before!
