Theater and Drama

Special Musical Productions

For nearly thirty years Northwood Temple has done major music/drama productions at Easter and Christmas. These attract audiences from even distant states. Every production uses an original script that is written in-house. No one ever quite knows what to expect when they attend a Northwood celebration, since the variety of story-content covers the gamut of human experience.

Dinner Theater

For over twenty years Northwood has presented an annual dinner theater, running from early August to mid October on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. These are comedy musicals centering around life in a fictitious small town named Smith Corners. Volunteers from the church family serve as actors, servers, cooks, hostesses, etc., to make this one of the “fun” things on the church calendar. Rehearsals run through the month of July, with new characters added every year. Proceeds from the dinner theater go to a variety of church projects, including the Jingling Brothers Carnival, the Christmas Celebration, and Academy projects.
